BATESVILLE, Ark. --
The Lyon College Pipers lost their sixth and seventh
consecutive games by 4-3 and 4-1 counts to the Williams
Baptist Lady Eagles Friday in nonconference play at the
North Complex.
The
bad-break bug bit Lyon (8-29) twice, once in each of the
games.
Lyon led 3-2
in game one, but allowed two deciding runs in the top of
the seventh.
In game two,
the Pipers trailed by a slim 2-1 margin. Then the home
team gave up two more game-clinching seventh inning
runs.
Pipers'
hurler Tenequa Martin had to pitch both ends of
the doubleheader due to an injury to pitcher Holly Geis
early in game two.
Martin allowed 15 hits and struck
out 10 in the two losses.
Natalie
Fuqua was 1 for 3 in game one with two RBIs. Abbey Canon
drove in a run.
In game two,
Taylor Morgan hit her third homer of the season and went
2 for 2. Phenix Butler finished the game 2 for 3.
