WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. --
The Lyon College Pipers first winning streak was struck
down by the Williams Baptist Lady Eagles in a 14-6 and
10-2 doubleheader loss Monday in nonconference play.
The Pipers (3-7) swept TranSouth Conference foe Lambuth
University in a doubleheader on
Saturday, but the Lady Eagles stopped the streak cold
with 14 hits in game one.
Lyon centerfielder Phenix Butler (Waldenburg, Ark.) and
third baseman Kiley Parker notched three hits apiece in
game one to lead the Pipers' 13-hit offense. Shortstop
Abbey Canon and first baseman Taylor Morgan (North
Little Rock, Ark.) had two hits apiece.
Tenequa Martin (2-3) suffered the loss on the mound.
In game two, Natalie Fuqua collected two of the Pipers'
four-hit output on offense.
Lyon pitcher Holly Geis (0-2) was stuck with the loss.
