Tenn. -- The NAIA's No. 4-ranked Trevecca Nazarene
Trojans notched 26 hits en route to a 9-0 and 11-2
doubleheader sweep of the Lyon College Pipers Saturday
in TranSouth Conference play.
Lyon (12-33
overall, 10-18 in the TranSouth) had a three-game
winning streak halted with the two losses. Trevecca
moves to 36-4 and 25-1.
In game one, Lyon managed
six hits, but were trumped by the Trojans' 14 hits and
11 runs.
Lyon's Abbey Canon and
Phenix Butler had two hits apiece for Lyon College.
Pipers' second baseman April Wright also had a two-run
homer.
TNU pitchers
Brittiany Johnson
and Stephanie Fisher combined on a one-hit shutout in
game two. The duo combined for five strikeouts and
walked only two.
April Wright had Lyon's
only game-two hit. Pitcher Tenequa Martin suffered the
loss.
