BATESVILLE,
Ark. -- A five-hit shutout by pitcher Tenequa Martin
helped the Lyon College Pipers snap a seven-game losing
streak with a 3-0 win in the first game of a TranSouth
Conference doubleheader split with the Cumberland Lady
Bulldogs Saturday at the North Complex.
Lyon (9-30
overall and 8-16 in league play) lost game two 3-2, but
its game one victory gave the team its first win since a

Tenn.
Martin
snapped a personal three-game losing string in game one
with two strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Pipers
shortstop Abbey Canon finished the twinbill 5-for-7 with
a double and two runs scored. Natalie Fuqua drove in
three runs and Taylor Morgan had three hits and an RBI.
Morgan
suffered the game-two loss on the mound, pitching seven
innings, while allowing five hits.
