MEMPHIS -- The Lyon College Pipers collected a
season-high 19 hits and 12 runs during a 12-10
extra-inning victory in game two of a TranSouth
Conference split with the Crichton Lady Comets.
Lyon (7-20 overall, 6-8 in TranSouth play) lost game one
in a run-rule shortened 13-5 contest.
Pipers' second baseman Abbey Canon was a perfect 7-for-7
in the twinbill with a double, a triple and five runs
scored. Tayor Morgan of North Little Rock, Ark., drove
in six runs and had five hits for Lyon in the two games.
Tenqua Martin (3-10) was stuck with the game one loss
and allowed 14 hits, 13 earned runs, walked three and
struck out two.
Morgan (3-5) earned the game two victory with eight
innings of work. The Pipers freshman pitcher allowed 14
hits and 10 earned runs. She struck out six and walked
two.
