BATESVILLE,
Ark. -- Taylor Morgan tossed a complete-game one-hitter
and the Lyon College Pipers collected 15 hits to earn a
7-1 victory in game two of a TranSouth doubleheader
split with Crichton College Wednesday at the North
Complex.
Morgan
(North Little Rock, Ark.) struck out four, walked two
and hit one batter in game two for the victory. She also
gave up one run in seven innings in the circle.
First
baseman Natalie Fuqua and third baseman Kiley Parker
each had three game-two hits to spark the Pipers. April
Wright, Mikka Jaggers and Kim Overbey each had two hits.
Overbey also drove in two runs.
Lyon (13-34
overall, 11-19 in conference play) lost game one 7-3
when they gave up six-runs in the top of the seventh to
relenquish a 2-1 advantage.
The Pipers
committed six errors in game one, including five in the
fateful seventh inning.
Tenequa
Martin suffered the hard-luck loss, despite pitching
seven-complete innings of six-hit ball. Martin gave up
only two earned runs in the contest and struck out
three.
