Morgan hits Lyon's
first home run in
doubleheader split
BATESVILLE, Ark. -- The
first home run in Lyon College softball history had
plenty of flair.
Taylor Morgan's walk-off
home run in the bottom of the seventh handed the Lyon
College Pipers a 6-5 victory in game one of a
doubleheader with TranSouth Conference foe Bethel
College.
Morgan went 4 for 4 on
the day with two doubles, a homer and three RBIs. Phenix
Butler went 2 for 4 in game one.
Tenequa Martin (3-3)
captured the win on the mound for Lyon and struck out
two.
The Pipers (4-8 overall,
3-1 in TranSouth play) went on to lose game two by a 9-2
count.
Butler and Natalie Fuqua
each went 2 for 4.
Morgan suffered the loss
for the Pipers in game two.
