S.C.A.R.F. Guidelines
Rules for Submission:
Each submitted work must be accompanied by an abstract/artist's statement/synopsis not exceeding 250 words. In particular, the judges will be interested in the student’s motivations, research, and personal philosophy about the work. Poster presentations should include sufficient written documentation to permit accessibility to the general reader. The abstract/artist's statement/synopsis must be submitted electronically to Professor LeJeune (margaret.lejeune@lyon.edu)
Criteria for Judgment:
Submission will be judged on the following criteria:
- Focus of the work or research
- Originality and /or creativity of the submission
- Organization and clarity
- Research process/technical quality/methodology
- Accessibility to a general audience-submission should be works suitable for general audience publications such as Harper’s, The Atlantic, Scientific American, or The New Yorker.
- Quality of presentation at the forum
Types of Submissions:
1. Both individual and group projects are acceptable. Multi-authored submissions must include a sentence describing the contribution(s) from each student entrant.
2. Submitted works resulting from internships completed off-campus are acceptable.
3. Submitted works are not restricted to a particular time frame but should have been completed while enrolled at Lyon.
