Start Homecoming Weekend off with a special party for alumni, students, faculty and staff at Josie's, Batesville's newest 'in' spot. The eight acts from Lyon’s Got Talent will take the stage and wow you with their talents.

The Fun Run starts at
Becknell Gymnasium and tours the campus. The top 10
finishers get a
free Lyon t-shirt! Registration will
be at 7:30 a.m. at Becknell. Please contact the Athletic

Bring out the kids

Commemorate the
history and traditions of Lyon College as we gather in Couch
Garden to recognize
and congratulate the recipients of this
year's awards. Those receiving awards are Dr. David
Churchill
'81 (Distinguished Alumnus); Dr. Brian S.
Bobb '97 and Dr. Heather Hodson Bobb '97 (the
Patterson Decade Award Winners); Mrs. Lois Ferguson
(Honorary Alumna); and Drs. Charles
and Anne Allen
(Friends of Education). Governor Mike Beebe gives the
keynote address in
celebration of the College’s 135th
birthday.
12:00 p.m. Couch Garden Picnic and Class Reunions
Following the
Founder's Day convocation, the picnic lunch awaits you in
Couch Garden. Stay awhile
and enjoy some epicurean delights
with friends, family, and classmates. In case of inclement
weather,
the picnic will be held in Edwards Commons.

their 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th and 50th reunions gather

reserved for them under the tent.

After the Piper soccer game, enjoy the Homecoming Court coronation ceremonies. The Lyon College Pipe Band plays as the Court marches onto the field and the 2007 Homecoming royalty are crowned.

This year's inductees
are Brandi Love Higginbotham '95, Martin D. Jacobs '75,
and Tammy
Peten '92. All were standout basketball
players at Lyon, and Ms. Peten also excelled as a track and
field athlete. The late Dr. C. Fitzhugh Spragins will be
honored with a posthumous Service
Award for his
contributions to Lyon athletics.
8 p.m. Homecoming Dance on the Lyon Building’s Flanders Patio
An evening of fun and
dance awaits you as we celebrate our friendships and
memories.
A DJ spins music spanning the decades and takes
requests for that special song that sends
you back in time.

10:30 a.m. The Kirkin' of the Tartans Worship Service at Brown Chapel.
Lyon College joins
with First Presbyterian Church of Batesville for this
traditional Scottish
worship service. A special performance
by the Alumni Reunion Choir, led by Dr. Dorothy
Landis Gray,
highlights the service.
Noon "Club 50" Luncheon at Edwards Commons
Alumni celebrating their golden anniversary and beyond with the College gather to renew friendships and share memories with those who helped shape them. (By Invitation Only)
1:00 p.m. Alpha Xi Delta Charity Golf Tournament
The Alpha Xi's host a 4-person scramble with a shotgun start. The first 40 teams registered and paid by Oct. 17 will play. Afternoon snacks, carts, and practice balls are provided and awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be given.
The entry fee is $300 per team and proceeds benefit the Independence County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), various nonprofits to aid children under Alpha Xi Delta's "Choose Children" philanthropy, and the Lyon College Annual Scholarship Fund.
