The Spirit Award was new to the Corporate Olympics this year and was awarded to the cheering section that showed the greatest spirit, based on the number of cheerleaders present, volume, sportsmanship and enthusiasm. Bad Boy Mowers supporters encouraged Central Elementary students to attend the Scottish Festival to root for Trey Wann, cheered on the "Kilting Kickers" with noisemakers, banners, face paint and logo apparel. Their support was recognized with a framed 2008 Arkansas Scottish Festival poster to be hung in the Bad Boy workplace.

Centerpoint Entergy's "Pass-N-Gas" was the day's overall winner. The team earned the coveted Corporate Olympics Traveling Trophy, which will be on display at the local Centerpoint office until April 2009. In addition, they will have the honor of being piped into work one morning by a member of the Lyon College Bagpipes Band. Bad Boy's "Kilting Kickers" took second place honors, while the Cheatham "Lions" won third. The three members of each team also received large shopping bags made of recycled materials; the bags were filled with goodies again donated by the Regional Advisory Boad and Lyon League.

Judges for the Olympics were state Senator Jack Critcher, Independence County Judge Bill Hicks and Sheri Croslin, Director of Membership Services at Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce. Batesville Mayor Rick Elumbaugh served as emcee.
