She is the representative for Independence County, all of North Central Arkansas and all of Missouri. Her first day was Sept. 19. "I have a good understanding what the new students are experiencing since I was one of them just a few years ago," she said. "Deciding where to go to college is a difficult thing to do and I enjoy helping make it a little easier for them." Cross is engaged to Andrew Shepherd, a 2005 Lyon graduate from New Zealand. "I like working with the admission staff," she said. "It's a fun office and everyone here is dedicated to making life at Lyon fulfilling for all the students." Roper's first day was Aug. 13. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Religion. Before joining the Lyon admissions team, Jeff was the Activities and Recreation Director at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. Jeff has also worked in several other capacities with Presbyterian Church (USA). He is the representative for Eastern Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi. His wife is the associate pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Batesville. "I like the family feeling of Lyon College," he said. "Students here are more than just faces in the crowd. They're the biggest part of that family." Roper also appreciates Lyon's connection to the Presbyterian Church and how being here allows him to continue his work with the church. |
