Author and
journalist Mara Leveritt DNA evidence filed Oct. 29 may give three men who say they were wrongly convicted in the sensational 1993 West Memphis child murders a chance to restate their case. And an award-winning journalist who authored a book about the case, Mara Leveritt, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Nucor Auditorium. The program is free and open to the public. Dr. David Thomas to present Lamar Williamson Prize Lecture Nov. 8 Lyon Music Department to host 'Gala Student Recital' and 'Beatlemania!' Students from the Lyon College music department will soon take the stage for a pair of performances of music ranging from opera to classic rock and roll. The first event will be the “Gala Student Recital” on Friday, Nov. 16, at 7:30 in Brown Chapel. The second event is “Beatlemania!,” on Saturday, Nov. 17, also at 7:30 in Brown Chapel.Contemporary Writers Series to welcome novelist John Clayton for talk, reading The Lyon College Contemporary Writers Series will welcome novelist and short story writer John J. Clayton on Tuesday, Nov. 13. He will speak on the art of writing at 11 a.m. in the Bevens Music Room, and will give a fiction reading at 7:30 p.m., also in Bevens. Holocaust victim to speak at Lyon College A woman whose parents died in a World War II Nazi prison camp will visit Lyon College on Nov. 19 to share her story of the impact the Holocaust had on her life. The program, at 6:30 p.m. in Nucor Auditorium, is free and open to the public.

College Concert Band to present The Lyon College Concert Band will present a holiday concert on Monday, Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m. in Brown Chapel. The concert will be in conjunction with the student recital and men's chorale concert that evening. This semester marks the first opportunity in several years for students to perform in a concert band setting. |
