T Tauri Film Festival to celebrate release
of DVD compilation with 'EXPLOSION'

To celebrate the release of the 2007 T Tauri Film Festival Compilation DVD and raise funds for future projects, the festival and youth media education initiative will host a benefit fundraiser at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Independence Hall on the campus of the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville.

The DVD contains 13 works from the festival, including both award winners and official selections.

Activities at the DVD Release EXPLOSION will include screening of DVD selections; a silent auction of rare Mexican movie posters, an Old World Lantern by Benoit, and other items; and the chance for guests to be interviewed by T Tauri youth filmmakers and see their interviews on the big screen at the end of the evening. Refreshments will be served.

Tickets to the DVD Release EXPLOSION  are $25 for adults or $20 for Foothills Film Society members and persons age 18 and under and 55 and over if purchased in combination with a DVD. Tickets to the event only are $15 for adults, $5 for Foothills Film Society members and persons age 18 and under and 55 and over.

DVDs and benefit tickets are available by calling 870-251-1189. The first T Tauri Film Festival Compilation DVD is sponsored by UACCB, Comfort Suites of Batesville, LaCroix Optical and First Community Bank.

The T Tauri Film Festival, launched in 2005, is the youth division of Ozark Foothills FilmFest, Inc. The annual festival is held for two weeks in late July in Batesville. It includes a national competition for young filmmakers judged by area teens; a two-week filmmaking camp that includes workshops in Camcorder Fundamentals, Digital Video Basics, Community Documentary Filmmaking, Acting on Camera, and other special topics; several days of screenings of official selections and other films of interest to youth and families; and an Awards Ceremony and Screening hosted by local youth.
