Elizabeth "Betsy" Jacoway talks to students, faculty, staff and community members at Lyon College March 25 about her book "Turn Away Thy Son: Little Rock, the Crisis That Shocked the Nation." Jacoway was 13 years old when nine black children Little Rock’s Central High School in September 1957. It wasn't until she was a doctoral student that she realized the importance of the Little Rock Nine and set out to discover what really happened more than 50 years ago. Jacoway was the visiting associate professor of history at Lyon College from 1990-1991 and joined the Lyon College Board of Trustees in 2001.
