1975 alum Jim Harkins dies in North Carolina

James "Jim" Thomas Harkins ’75 died Dec. 9, 2007, at Kannapolis, N.C., of a heart attack. He was 54. His memorial service was Dec. 12, 2007, at Midway United Methodist Church in Kannapolis. Jim was born in Oklahoma City, Okla., on Feb. 25, 1953, to the late James A. Harkins and to Margaret Niblock Harkins. He had made his home in Kannapolis for the past 20 years. He managed Cash-A-Check in Kannapolis. He was a 1975 graduate of Lyon College (formerly Arkansas College). Jim was a dedicated member of Midway UMC, where he served as lay leader and choir member and participated in many activities. He was also an avid supporter of Kannapolis sports and civic events. Mr. Harkins is survived by his mother, Margaret Niblock Harkins of Oklahoma City; sisters, Beth Pribulsky of Dallas, Texas, and Sarah Holbrook of Edmond, Okla; and brother, Dan, of Oklahoma City.
