Kay Kelley Arnold of Little Rock elected
to Lyon College Board of Trustees

Kay Kelley Arnold of Little Rock has been elected to the Lyon College Board of Trustees.

Arnold has a longtime background in Arkansas’ energy industry. The licensed attorney and professional communicator joined Arkansas Power & Light (now Entergy) in 1988 as the general manager of corporate communications. In 1989, she was promoted to director of federal governmental relations and served as the company’s liaison in Washington, D.C. From that assignment, she was promoted to vice president of communications in 1991.

In 1993, Arnold was assigned to Entergy’s GSU Merger Team, managing state legislative and local government approvals and successfully moved on to become the director of federal regulatory affairs for Entergy Services. She was promoted to vice president of system governmental affairs in 1995. In 2001, she accepted a special assignment to lead Entergy’s low-income initiative. Two years later, Arnold’s role was expanded to encompass corporate contributions and employee volunteerism and other special projects as assigned.

Prior to joining Entergy, Arnold was the director of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, consisting of six state agencies, and was the founding director of The Nature Conservancy’s Arkansas office.

Arnold has a bachelor’s and master of arts degrees in communications from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She earned her juris doctorate from the University of Arkansas Law School at Little Rock.

Arnold has received numerous awards for her outstanding work including the Public Service Award from the Nature Conservancy; 1993 National Woman of Achievement in Energy by the Women in Energy organization and Arkansas Chapter NCCJ Humanitarian of the Year Award. She also has been inducted into the Arkansas Outdoors Hall of Fame and was appointed by former President Bill Clinton to the Inter-American Foundation, where she served as vice chair and chair.

Arnold is currently on the boards of the Winrock International Advisory Board, Inter-American Foundation, the Conservation Fund, the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission, and the National Wildlife Foundation President’s Council.

She is the current chair of the Little Rock National Airport Commission and a member of the Board of AAA of Missouri. For more than 30 years she has volunteered in local, state and national political campaigns. Arnold also is an active member of Saint Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Little Rock.

Kay Kelley Arnold
