Dr. Mahbubul Kabir joined the Lyon faculty in 1999. Before coming to Lyon, Dr. Kabir taught at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. He has served on college committees, including the Curriculum Committee, Institutional Assessment Committee, Aademic Affairs Council, Strategic Planning and Budget Committee, College Computing Committee, General Education Task Force, and Student Creative Arts and Research Forum advisory committee. He currently serves on the Promotion and Tenure committee. Mahbubul is advisor to the International Honor Society in Economics (Omicron Delta Epsilon) at Lyon. Dr. Kabir's research interest is in the application of production economics with estimation of stochastic frontiers to examine the efficiency determinants of U.S. school districts, U.S. manufacturing industries, and vertically integrated hog farms. His research also includes ways to improve economics teaching to enhance student learning.
