Computer Use Policy

regarding P2P

(peer-to-peer file-sharing software)

In order to provide equitable access to a scarce resource, Internet bandwidth, and to maximize its utility for academic and College business purposes, the use of peer-to-peer file sharing software, or similar technologies, is prohibited over Lyon's Internet connections without the written approval of a Lyon College vice-president. Violators will receive a warning and, if the activity is not halted within 24 hours or is repeated, access privileges to the campus network may be restricted for the remainder of the academic year to computers in the Lyon PC labs during normal hours of operation.
