International Student Checklist

Transfer students please print out the SEVIS FORM I-20 Transfer to Lyon College, fill it out, and mail it to the address at the top of the form.
Effective Oct. 27, 2008, all F-1 visa status students that have been issued an I-20 must pay a $200.00 fee for the administration of SEVIS. Form I-901 and the $200.00 fee must be completed and paid before a visa is issued. For detailed instructions on how to complete Form I-901 and how to pay your fee please go to www.fmjfee.com.

For CONAHEC, Akita, ISEP, and Irish-American Scholar Students (tuition exchange):
- Lyon application for admission with essay, plus $50 application fee
- Test score: ACT, SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, or ESL placement
- Financial documentation in compliance with the completed Supplemental and Financial Information Form
- Advance deposit of 50% of student’s cost for first semester, due one month before first day of classes
- Remaining payment for first semester due 2 weeks prior to first day of classes
- For second semester, 50% of student’s cost is required before registration and remainder required 2 weeks prior to first day of classes.
For All Freshman and Transfer International Students:
- Lyon application for admission with essay, plus $50 application fee
- Test score: ACT, SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, or ESL placement
- Evaluated foreign secondary and college (if applicable) transcripts from a NACES agency, including grades for each class and an overall GPA (course-by-course evaluation)
- Official Transcripts from all US schools attended
- Financial documentation in compliance with the completed Supplemental and Financial Information Form
- One-time advance deposit of 50% of student’s cost for first semester, due one month before first day of classes
- Remaining payment for first semester due 2 weeks prior to first day of classes, *unless student plans to set up a payment plan. (If planning to set up a payment plan, student will need to open a US banking account once he/she arrives at Lyon.)
- For second semester, 50% of student’s cost is required before registration and remainder required 2 weeks prior to first day of classes, unless payment plan is in place.

Costs for the 2012/2013 Academic Year:
Tuition and Mandatory Fees: $23,594
Room and Board: $7,560
Average cost of books: $1,000
International insurance: $650 (Akita students will bring their own insurance and will incur no extra insurance fee.)
Many scholarship opportunities are available. The maximum scholarship awarded is $10,000.
