Why you do what you do:
What could be more fascinating than to study human behavior?
What you want to give to your students:
Time, attention, encouragement to take intellectual risks
What you expect from your students:
I hope that while they are learning to make a living,
that they learn to make a life. I believe that studying psychology helps
with both.
Why you are at Lyon:
It is easier to do here what we ought to do everywhere:
blur the lines between intellectual and emotional life, work and play,
passion and discipline, what is serious and what is funny..
Favorite anecdote:
My favorite story stays the same, with a different name
attached to the student each time: last year's students who come back to
visit, happy to relate that they are excelling in graduate school or work
because of skills they learned at Lyon.
