Graduation Requirements
All candidates for a degree at Lyon must meet the following requirements:
Credit hours: 120 Total Credit Hours Overall.
Grade point: Cumulative 2.00 and 2.00 in major.
Residency: Two semesters with the last 30 hours taken at Lyon.
Freshman Seminar: Core 100 (First Year Orientation).
Proficiency Requirements:
English Composition 101 and 102 as well as College Algebra and two semesters of foreign language.
Distribution Requirements: Social Sciences: 6 credits
Art & Literature: 6 credits
Natural Sciences/Math: 7-8 credits
Religion & Philosophy: 3 credits
Physical Education Requirements:
Physical Fitness 101 and one physical activity course in sophomore, junior, and senior year. A maximum of seven physical education activity courses may be applied toward graduation.
Sophomore Sequence:
Fall: History 201 or Religion & Philosophy 201
Spring: History 202 or Religion & Philosophy 202
Major Requirements: Completion of the requirements of one of the major fields of study offered by Lyon College.
Other Requirements: Candidates for degree must be in good academic and social standing, have fulfilled all financial obligations to the College, and be present at graduation.
