Many students think that a Lyon College education is financially out of reach. However, it is the pleasure of the Financial Aid Staff to award over $4 million in institutional aid to our students to allow them to attend what US News and World Report consistently lauds as "One of America's Best Liberal Arts Colleges."

Over 99% of last year's incoming Lyon College students received scholarships and other types of Financial Aid to help finance their education.

The Office of Student Financial Aid strives to develop a financial strategy that you can afford and offers a variety of financial aid resources including Lyon College's Scholarship Program, federal and state grants, loans, and work-study programs.

You must apply and be accepted for admission to Lyon before a financial aid award can be made. It is recommended that you apply for Federal Financial Aid by mid-February to ensure maximum eligibility for all types of financial aid.

Complete the 2010-2011 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.gov using your PIN for electronic signatures (available at www.pin.ed.gov).

Are you an Arkansas resident?

If so, complete the Arkansas Department of Higher Education “YOUniversal” Financial Aid System application

The following information may be required to complete your financial aid application. If required, Lyon’s Office of Financial Aid will notify you by email or US Mail:

• Signed copy of your parents’ 2009 federal tax return
• Signed copy of your 2009 federal tax return
• Federal verification form
