Eligibility
An individual is eligible to participate in APPLE Project if he or she:
1. Meets the following citizenship/residency guidelines:
- a) Is a citizen or national of the United States, or
- b) Is a permanent resident of the United States, or
- c) Is a permanent resident of the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands, or
- d) Has provided evidence from the Immigration and Naturalization Service that he or she is in the United States for other than a temporary purpose with the intention of becoming a citizen or permanent resident; and
2. Meets at least one of the following criteria at the time of initial selection:
- a) Is a potential first generation college student (neither parent has a bachelor’s degree or higher), and/or
- b) Is a low-income student as defined by the U.S. Department of Education guidelines; and
3. Has a need for the services provided by the Project; and
4. Is enrolled in high school as follows:
- a) Has completed the 8th grade and not yet entered the 12th grade and
- b) Is enrolled in a high school being served by this program (Batesville, Cave City, Cedar Ridge, Midland, Mountain View, Newport, Southside, and Tuckerman).
