Russell Stinson

The Josephine Emily Brown Professor of Music and College Organist

Dr. Stinson holds a Bachelor of Music from Stetson University, as well as a Master of Arts and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.  He teaches music history, music appreciation and organ, and researches the work of composer Johann Sebastian Bach.  Dr. Stinson is also choirmaster and organist at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Batesville.

Joel Plaag

Director of Choral Activities

Assistant Professor of Music

Dr. Plaag holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Texas Christian University, a Master of Music from Westminster Choir College, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Houston.  He also holds a diploma from the international institute for conductors in Bacâu, Romania.  He teaches conducting, music theory, world music, and music appreciation, and researches conducting pedagogy.

Ms. Pickett is a graduate of Lyon College in music and a former music director at First United Methodist Church of Batesville.  She is also active in the Batesville Community Theatre.

Barbara Reeve

Orchestra Director

Instructor of Strings

Ms. Reeve holds a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Music Education from Western Michigan University and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  She also teaches elementary music in the Batesville School District and performs with the Arkansas Symphony.
