"The program helps me expand as a musician. The SHP has brought me further than any other bagpiping instructor ever has. When I showed up to the school I was recovering from bagpiping hiatus and could barely play any classical pipe music. Six months later I was placing at the premiere amateur contests in the country and went on to place second for the overall aggregate prize in the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association. I am sure that the lessons I learn through the Scottish Heritage Program and the music program will influence my perspective as a competitor, teacher and judge in the future.
